Right now #COVID19 has the world kinda on a standstill. But, I'm guessing like me, when things open up again, you'll be ready to hit the pavement running. Okay, maybe not as soon as it opens up, but you know what I mean. Whether it's traveling outside of the country, taking road trips or simply going to new places to give my kids different experiences, I am so used to being on the go. So while we are under a #StayInPlace order to keep our family, friends and neighbors safe,I'm continually dreaming of places to go.
So, if this sounds like you and you are ready to experience the world outside of the United States, here are three (3) helpful things to know before applying for your first passport.
Where do I go? You will have to show up in person at either an acceptance facility or a passport agency. It is best to call ahead and find out if they accept appointments or can tell you best day and time to come in.
What do I need? You will need to have the following when you arrive:
Photocopy of the front and back of your identification
Passport photo, 1 2” by 2” color passport photo
When will I get it? After your appointment, expect to receive your passport in four to six weeks. If you need to get your passport faster you can pay to have it expedited for an additional fee, read more at Get a Passport in a Hurry or you can go to Rush My Passport to get your passport in as little as 2-3 weeks (due to the current #Pandemic).
